Tom Test

Recent credits: Narration on "A Place to Call Home" on HGTV, airing Tuesdays at 7 and 10 pm CST; TV voice-overs for Betty Crocker Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Oatmeal Raisin Crisp, Jewel, and the AARP; radio spots for Midas, AT&T @Home, and the Village Cycle Center; non-broadcast narrations for a Wal-Mart/Britney Spears/Pespi video wall promotion, Molex, and Whirlpool, among many others.

Favorite roles include a dry, down-to-earth guy for Sears Hardware, a warm, yet compelling narrator for ChildServ, half of a Stooges-inspired Siamese twin for Village Cycle Center, a Dad immortalized in an Enesco Precious Moments talking figurine, but especially in my current role as narrator of "A Place to Call Home" on the Home & Garden channel.

His philosophy: "Good voice-over isn't simply reading in a pleasant voice. It's communicating with an engaging energy, through a strong point of view, an understanding of the ideas in a script, and an emotional connection-- and, having a vision for the big picture of the 'who, what, where, and why?' behind the script.
